Rev. Mother Katherine Mary, OSBS is an integral member of both the Community of Peace and it's Chapter known as the Anglican (Benedictine) Missionaries of Life. She brings to this healing ministry, years of of both clinical experience and spiritual formation.

She holds a Masters of Social Work from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis, MO.. Kate is licensed by the Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners as a Licensed Certified Social Worker(L.C.S.W.).  She is certified by the Alabama Board for Private Independent Practice(P.I.P.) in: Social Work Casework; Social Work Administration; and Clinical Social Work. She is the Psychotherapist and Spiritual Director at the Center, Mtr. Kate conducts psychotherapy, spiritual companionship, forensic testimony for abuse victims, supervision of newly licensed social workers, burnout (compassion fatigue) prevention, provides continuing education seminars, has served on local state mandated community committees and facilitates retreats. Specialized programs offered include Rachel's Hope to those who have been effected by abortion spiritual healing. Our newest program of excellence is the Praying Grandma's Network called Grandmas At Prayer. Rev. Mother serves as a Instructor and guest lecturer(as needed at Auburn University's Social Work Program.

She has lived by the Rule of St. Benedict for over 19 years including having been associated with the Order of St. Benedict as an Oblate for over 10 years and a Professed Third Order Benedictine. Mother just finished a time of functioning in the role of Director of Benedictine Vocations. She is a founding member of the Anglican Federation of St.Benedict. 

The merging of "therapy" from clinical work and "healing" from the Rule of St. Benedict radiates throughout her life and work. Her experience as Priest, Contemplative, Monastic, Wife(Richard),  Mother((Michael, Matthew and Brian), Stepmother(Joseph, Jerry and John), Mother-in-law,(Shell, Ginger, Angel, Jamie and Julie) and Grandmother ("Nana" of Robert, Miranda, Tyler, Jacob, Stephen and our newest grandchild due in March, 2008 is apparent in her ministry.

Having read for Orders, Mother Kate received Holy Orders to the Order of Deacons on July 24, 2002,. She   received Holy Orders to the Priesthood on Sept. 30, 2004. Please keep Rev. Mother Kate and all Candidates and Clergy of Holy Orders in your prayers.

Rev. Mother was an Associate of Stillpoint Ministries' Retreat Leaders Program. She was the founding Coordinator of the of Stillpoint Companions; an intentional, ecumenical community of Christian seekers comprised of both ordained clergy and lay men and women.  Amma Kate has participated in the Education for Ministry Program (EFM) of the University of the South's School of Theology.  Kate graduated from the four year program. She has been an accredited Mentor and has mentored EFM groups. Amma read for Orders under the guidance of the Late Archbishop Max Broussard.

Active in Benedictine and Anglican spirituality,  Amma Kate has been the Coordinator of Religious Education, a Licensed Eucharistic Minister, member of Intercessory Prayer Teams,  leads retreats, has been a Lay Delegate to the Alabama State Convention, served on the Diocesan State Board of the Daughters of the King and served on the Vestry at her parish. Amma Kate is a member of numerous religious, spiritual and professional organizations. Some of them include: the NASW, The National Association of Christian Social Workers, Spiritual Directors International, PAX CHRISTI, The Companions of Stillpoint, past member and officer of the Board of Directors of Stillpoint Ministries, Anglicans for Life, The American Society on the Abuse of Children,  American Society of Christian Counselors, and  the Fellowship of Reconciliation, the American Benedictine Academy  and The Benedictines for Peace. She is a proud member of the Anglican Communion Network as a Common Cause Clergymember.
